About
Agita Janusevska is a Latvian artist who has called Edinburgh, Scotland, home for over 13 years. A graduate of the University of Economics and Culture in Latvia with a background in Interior Design, she has been drawing and painting since childhood—but it's her intuitive, emotion-led approach that defines her work today.
Agita doesn't plan her art. She listens, trusts, and creates in the moment—letting instinct guide her brushstrokes across canvas, clothing, walls, and found materials. Her vibrant, expressive portraits explore themes of identity, duality, and the beauty found in imperfection.
Working in acrylic, ink, mixed media, and textile paints, Agita's practice spans fine art, wearable pieces, murals, and digital collage. Her work has been exhibited at Edinburgh Printmakers (Castle Mills: Then & Now), Aberdeen Art Fair, Edinburgh Art Fair, and in group shows across Scotland as part of the Orion Art Collective and The Artists' Pool.
Inspired by artists like Frida Kahlo and Pablo Picasso, Agita sees art as a way to transform the overlooked and embrace imperfection. Her purpose, as she describes it, is simple: "To be happy, to create from the heart, and to inspire others through my art."
She believes that art is not just decoration—it's expression, transformation, and connection. Through her work, she invites viewers to question standards, embrace their own uniqueness, and find beauty in what is raw, unfinished, and real.
